School Board

President - Marty Ensberg
Marty is a retired banker with 48 years’ experience in building business. He has strong analytical and sales skills. Marty has extensive experience in commercial real estate lending, asset based lending and leveraged finance. Awards include being selected 5 times for the presidents Club Achievement Award for Top performance within Citizen’s Bank. Marty has served on the Board of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of commerce , the Hermosa beach Little league and as vice president on the Church council for Resurrection Lutheran church.

Vice President - Sally Buss
Sally has been an educator for over 45 years. She has taught primarily at the middle school, high school, and university levels. She has a doctorate in social science education from the University of Georgia and spent the last 22 years of her career teaching eighth grade at Trinity Lutheran School in Clinton Township, Michigan. Sally is relatively new to the South Bay. Her four adult children were first to make the move; Sally and her husband, Greg, followed more recently. They also have five grandchildren in the area. Sally is pleased to serve on the Riviera Hall Lutheran School Board.

Esteban Ortega

Member - Haley Musial
A Texas native Haley grew up in Houston where she earned her bachelors degree at University of Houston. After college she moved to Los Angeles and had an expansive career in marketing but ultimately found her home in Redondo Beach working in real estate where she resides with her husband and two daughters. Having family that went through RHLC and connecting with the congregation making RLC her family church was a no brainer. She has a passion for her church, community and talking apologetics and the life of Jesus Christ.

Member - Jill Ricci
Jill attended Trinity Lutheran School in Hawthorne through 8th grade. After graduating from UCLA with a math degree, she taught in Palos Verdes School District for 40 years. Jill is married to John Ricci and has 2 daughters, 1 stepson, and 7 grandchildren. Jill has been a member of RLC for close to 50 years. She feels blessed to be a member of the school board and is looking forward to an exciting school year.

Member - Christina Cuevas
Christina Cuevas MD is a medical professional specializing in aesthetics. Following her medical degree and aesthetics fellowship in Mexico, she holds respected licenses as an esthetician and phlebotomist within California. Christina often facilitates classes for different workshops on emotional intelligence training and life coaching. She also serves as the Executive Assistant for the Bauhaus Group and Bauhaus Constructors Corp., a property management and construction company co-led with her husband. Christina champions education and community service. As a mother of 2 boys, she actively contributes to the PVO at RHLS.Her passionate involvement with non-profit organizations, notably MITT, further underscores her commitment to community service.

Member - Elaine Semple, PhD
I've been a member of RLC for about 20 years. I've served in Children’s Ministry as a Sunday School teacher and a school board member on and off for most of those years. In my other life, I'm a psychologist and behavior analyst, supporting children in my practice, Bridge to Education. I am also currently a faculty member at CSU Dominguez Hills. I retired from the public school system a few years ago. I served as a District level admin, principal, school psych and teacher and I am so glad to be able to continue to participate as a part of the educational team for students at RHLS

Member - Judy Milner
Member: Judy has lived in the beach cities since 1952. She and her husband owned and operated a tourist shop for 42 years on the Redondo Beach pier. Other businesses included a restaurant, pet store and the largest gift shop on San Pedro's Ports o Call. Judy's daughter is an alumni of RHLPS and RHLS, attending pre-school through eighth grade at our Christian school. Judy is an active member of the RLC congregation. She serves on the church Council, the School Board and various ministry teams. Her interests include her dog and neighborhood walks. Judy also enjoys trips to the birthing lagoon of the coast of Mexico for the gray whales and a recent great white shark dive expedition

Pastor Ken Johnson
In His ministry at Resurrection Lutheran Church Pastor Johnson focuses on interaction with other religious communities and partners in business, government, the arts and civic society. Concerned for all the people of Resurrection Church, School and Preschool, he has a particular passion for the care and wellbeing of homeless people in the community parish.
Pastor Johnson is a graduate of Trinity Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, Fuller Seminary, Pasadena, California, Pepperdine University, Malibu, California, studied at the Drucker Institute, Stetson University and SUNY in Buffalo, New York.
Pastor Johnson lives in Redondo Beach with is wife Barbie.
